Liquid Fish Glue 500ml

Composed mainly of organic fish residues this glue is ideal for wood, paper, cardboard and even leather. It offers both instant membership and longer than normal working hours. Its high strength and non-toxicity make it an excellent choice for assembly. It can be sandblasted and is solvent resistant.
However once dry it has a low water resistance. It is widely used by furniture restorers because once dry it can be reactivated by humidifying it, so it fully regains its adhesion properties. Alone or combined with gum Arabic, this glue is also used as a medium to crack.

Instructions for use for craquelure:
This process works very well with all water-based paints.
On a dry painted surface, apply a layer of Poisson Glue with a brush to the desired areas. The thickness of the glue layer will affect the size of the crack. The more glue is applied, the wider and coarser the cracks will be. To obtain finer cracks, it is possible to dilute the glue slightly with warm water.
When the glue is barely dry to the touch, apply a coat of paint. Cracks will appear almost immediately. The result may vary depending on the color of the paint used.
Applying a coloured wax or oil will enhance and highlight the cracks.
