DESCRIPTION
SANSIN DEC is an environmentally friendly, water-based penetrating coating specifically designed for decks, balconies and fences. Its two-coat system penetrates deeply into the wood to provide durable protection while allowing the wood to breathe naturally.
Ideal for cedar, pine, spruce, fir, treated wood and exotic hardwoods, SANSIN DEC is water repellent, UV resistant, low VOC, non-flammable and easy to clean with water and mild soap.
Its modified natural oil penetrates deeply into wood with moisture content up to 25%, including green wood. Even with a high solids content, SANSIN DEC allows the wood to breathe freely, helping maintain dimensional stability.
SANSIN DEC will not crack, peel or blister, making it an excellent choice for preserving the natural beauty and integrity of exterior wood.

TINT BASES
SANSIN DEC is available in the following bases:
- DEC-0: natural and translucent colours
- DEC-2: saturated and ultra-saturated colours
PREPARATION
- Ensure the surface is sound and free of defects
- Clean the surface thoroughly
- Replace damaged boards if required
- Sand the wood using 60–80 grit sandpaper
- Surface must be clean and free of dust, grease, wax and old coatings
APPLICATION METHODS
For new wood, wait 6 to 8 weeks after installation before applying SANSIN DEC.
Recommended application methods:
- Dipping
- Brush
- Spray
Always apply a generous coat to maximize absorption.
PROCEDURES
- Saturate the wood surface
- Wipe away puddles and runs
- Do not apply in direct sunlight or during the hottest part of the day
- Do not apply if the wood is hot to the touch
- Can be applied on wood with moisture content up to 25%
- Do not apply during rain or cold nights
- Allow 24 hours of drying time after application
- Stir thoroughly before and during use
- Always read application instructions before starting the project
MAINTENANCE
Vertical surfaces generally require maintenance every 1 to 4 years depending on exposure and application conditions.
Regular maintenance helps:
- preserve wood colour,
- improve dimensional stability,
- maintain water repellency.
Periodically clean the wood surface using a pressure washer and/or SANSIN MULTI-WASH to remove dirt and debris.
When fading or erosion becomes visible, clean the surface and apply a maintenance coat of SANSIN DEC according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
