Odie’s Dark Wax – 9 oz
Odie’s Dark Wax is a premium, traditional dark hard wax designed to deliver a professional-grade finish on all wood species. Its proprietary blend of natural oxidizing oils and dark hard waxes:
- darkens wood instantly upon application,
- continues to oxidize over time, creating depth and contrast,
- develops a rich, evolving patina impossible to achieve with conventional stains.
Technical Specifications
- Product type: dark finishing wax with natural oxidizing oils.
- Sheen: satin to gloss depending on polishing and number of coats.
- Coverage: approx. 21 sq. ft./oz or ≈ 189 sq. ft. per 9 oz jar on domestic woods.
- Compatibility: suitable for all woods, including oily exotics (e.g., teak, mahogany, ebony).
- UV Protection: contains natural UV inhibitors to prevent fading and graying.
- Durability: excellent resistance to stains, moisture, and wear. Improves with age through natural oxidation.
- Safety: solvent-free, no dryers, no toxic chemicals. Food-safe, family- and pet-safe.
Recommended Uses

Application Guidelines (summary)
- Surface prep: sand progressively to 180–220 grit for furniture, 150 for floors.
- Application: apply a very thin coat using a lint-free cloth or polishing pad.
- Buffing: after a few minutes, buff to enhance penetration and sheen.
- Finish: typically, one coat is sufficient due to the high coverage rate.
⚠️ Note: Apply sparingly. “Less is more” – over-application reduces adhesion and coverage.
