SANSIN DEC is a durable penetrating formula that protects your deck from within. While film-forming coatings can easily peel and scratch, exposing the wood to the elements, SANSIN DEC provides long-lasting protection against rain and UV exposure.

Since decks are subject to heavy wear, they require regular maintenance. With SANSIN DEC, you can preserve the beauty of your deck with simple cleaning and a maintenance coat.

DESCRIPTION

SANSIN DEC is an environmentally friendly, two-coat penetrating finish specifically designed for decks. SANSIN DEC is ideal for cedar, pine, spruce, fir, pressure-treated wood, and exotic hardwoods. This product is UV-resistant, water-repellent, low VOC, non-flammable, and easy to clean with water and mild soap. The modified natural oil in SANSIN DEC penetrates deeply into the wood regardless of moisture content, which often exceeds 25% for decks. Even with a high solids content, SANSIN DEC allows the wood to “breathe” freely. SANSIN DEC offers excellent protection against UV rays and weather while remaining easy to maintain. This product will not crack, peel, or blister. It is the premium choice for maintaining the natural beauty and integrity of your wood.

COLORS

Available in the full range of SANSIN colours, as well as custom architectural colours. Colours may vary depending on grain, pigment, porosity, and wood species. Results may differ from what is shown. Always perform a test beforehand to ensure satisfactory results.

TINT BASES

SANSIN DEC is available in the following three bases: DEC-0 for natural colours, DEC-1 for translucent colours, and DEC-2 for saturated and ultra-saturated colours.

PREPARATION

• Ensure the surface is free of defects or deterioration
• Clean the surface
• Replace defective boards if necessary
• Sand the wood using a belt sander or orbital sander with 60-80 grit sandpaper
• The surface must be clean and free of dust, dirt, grease, wax, and/or old coatings

APPLICATION METHODS

For new wood, we recommend waiting 6 to 8 weeks after installation before applying SANSIN DEC.

Always apply a generous coat of SANSIN DEC for maximum absorption.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

• Saturate the wood surface
• Continuously inspect the surface and wipe away any puddles or runs
• Do not apply during the hottest part of the day or in direct sunlight
• Do not apply if the wood is hot to the touch
• Can be applied to wood with moisture content up to 25%
• Can be applied to green wood
• Do not apply on rainy days or during cold nights, the product requires 24 hours of drying time after application
• When using tinted product, mix thoroughly before and during application
• Always read the application instructions before starting your project

MAINTENANCE

Vertical surfaces require maintenance every 1 to 4 years. Maintenance is necessary when the surface shows signs of wear such as fading or erosion. Regular maintenance will help preserve the wood colour over time, improve dimensional stability, and maintain water repellency. Periodically clean your wood using a pressure washer and/or SANSIN MULTI-WASH to remove dust and dirt. Maintenance frequency depends on surface preparation quality, application quality, and exposure conditions.

If fading or erosion is evident, clean the wood using a pressure washer and/or SANSIN MULTI-WASH to remove dust and dirt. Then reapply a maintenance coat of SANSIN DEC following the application instructions. Exposure, application quality, and colour selection will affect coating performance.
