Cherry Veneered Panels – 4' x 8' Format
Our cherry panels are veneered on both sides and available with different core options (MDF, veneer core, particleboard, or Baltic birch), depending on the thickness and intended application. Offered in A1 or A4 grades, they are suitable for both high-end cabinetry projects and applications where only one face will be visible.
Available Thicknesses
| Épaisseur | Âme | Grade | Usage recommandé |
| 1/4" (actual 5,2 mm) |
MDF or VC (veneer core) |
A4 | Projects with one visible face |
| 5/8" |
Particuleboard | A1 | Furniture and cabinetry visible on both side |
| 3/4" (actual 18 mm) |
Baltic birch plywood (multiply) |
A1 | Premium cabinetry, increased regidity |
1/4" (actual 5.2 mm) – MDF or Veneer Core – A4 Grade – Good 1 Side
The 1/4" cherry panels are available with either an MDF core or a veneer core (plywood-style core made of wood veneers). The core may vary depending on supply availability. They are double-sided veneered in A4 grade.
Ideal for projects where only one side is visible, such as cabinet backs, wall panels, or casework interiors.
5/8" – Particleboard Core – A1 Grade – Good 2 Sides
Cherry panels with a particleboard core are veneered on both sides in A1 grade, providing a superior finish on both faces. The veneer is sliced, producing a natural grain pattern known as “cathedral” or “crown.”
The particleboard core offers excellent dimensional stability, making it especially popular in furniture manufacturing.
3/4" (actual 18 mm) – Baltic Birch Core – A1 Grade – Good 2 Sides
These premium panels combine a selected cherry veneer with a Baltic birch multi-ply core. This core contains more and thinner plies than traditional plywood, providing:
- High rigidity
- Excellent stability
- 100% hardwood core (birch)
Recommended for demanding cabinetry projects, architectural millwork, and applications visible on both sides.
Understanding Veneer Grades
Veneer grades are North American standards describing the appearance of the veneer faces.
Grade A1 – Good 2 Sides
- Face A: Superior appearance, uniform color, invisible repairs
- Back 1: Very good appearance, minor defects allowed
- Used for fine furniture visible on both sides
Grade A4 – Good 1 Side
- Face A: Superior appearance, uniform color, invisible repairs
- Back 4: Utility-grade, non-decorative appearance, may contain multiple characteristics and mixed species
- Used when only one face is exposed
Sanding Recommendation
Light sanding is possible using 180 grit or finer. Do not sand aggressively, as the veneer is thin and may be damaged.
Tolerances
As with all panels, slight thickness variations are permitted according to manufacturer standards.
