This jig is called the "Multi-Sharpening Jig" for a reason. It consists of a housing and two interchangeable bases for different types of tools: an open base and a closed base, effectively allowing you to have two jigs in one. With the SVS-50 Multi-Sharpening Jig, you can sharpen straight and round-nose lathe chisels, as well as splitting tools, roughing or conventional gouges, and wood chisels.

SVS-50 Multi-Jig for Wood Lathe Chisels

The closed seat allows you to sharpen most chisels with precision, whether the blade is rectangular or rounded, and whether the edge is straight or rounded. Because the tool is mounted vertically in the center of the jig, you only need to mount it once to sharpen both sides. When one side is ready, simply turn the jig upside down and sharpen the tool to a symmetrical shape.
