Scientific name: Olea spp. (Olea europaea, O. capensis)

Origin: Europe and East Africa

Common uses: Interior. High-end furniture, veneer, turning and small specialty wooden objects.

Colour/appearance: The core wood is cream or yellowish-brown, with contrasting streaks of dark brown or black. The colour tends to darken with age. The grain of olive wood sometimes has curly or wavy, irregular or loupe patterns
