Description

 Milk Paint - Homestead House

With milk paint, you get a unique finish and a variety of shades, from opaque colors to semi-transparent stains, depending on the amount of water added to the powder. It can be used without priming on any porous surface. Milk paint will last for generations because it penetrates the wood and adheres to the fibers without chipping or peeling. For use on a previously painted surface, use the milk paint adhesive.

Features:

  • Very easy to use! Simply mix the powder with water.
  • 100% natural Biodegradable
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Contains no chemicals
  • Non-toxic
  • VOC-free
  • Can be used indoors or outdoors
  • No priming required

 Instructions for Use:

  1. Mix 1 part water with 1 part milk paint powder in a blender or by stirring vigorously with a whisk or motorized paint mixer.
  2. Pour the water into the blender first, then add the milk paint powder and blend for 1 minute.
  3. For best results, let the mixture sit for 10 minutes to fully dissolve all pigments and ingredients, then blend again for 1 minute.
  4. Your milk paint should have the consistency of table cream for solid opaque coverage.
  5. Test the paint on a small sample to check the consistency. If the color is not solid (paint too thin), add a little more powder and blend again.
  6. If the paint is too thick, add more water and adjust as needed.
  7. Once the desired opacity and consistency are reached, pour the paint into a wide-mouth container for use.
  8. Clean the blender.

Application Method:

Apply the paint evenly. Stir the paint with the brush from time to time to redistribute the pigments that settle at the bottom.

Drying Time: about 30 minutes

Tips:

It may be necessary to apply 2 or 3 coats to achieve the desired result. Lightly sand with 220-grit sandpaper. Wipe clean. The chalky matte appearance will be enhanced with the topcoat.
