Each contour sanding grip is made of flexible and grippy rubber, with a concave and convex profile on the ends. The rubber material is firm enough to hold its shape well but soft enough to adapt to minor variations in the profile. The grippy texture helps prevent the abrasive from slipping, which also reduces the need for you to squeeze.
Our contour sanding grip pads make it easy to sand a wide range of inside angles without distorting the crispness of the profile. Just wrap sandpaper around the profile and begin sanding. Perfect for smoothing beads, flutes, coves, round corner, dowels and spindle profiles — virtually any smaller rounded shape on your projects.
Sanding smaller concave or convex shapes smooth without blunting or changing the profile can be difficult. And, typically you’ll need to use a pencil, dowel or some other available backer “form” to support the sandpaper while you sand. They’re seldom the right fit.
