Common Uses: Indoor use. Veneers, furniture, cabinetry, turned objects, musical instruments, and carvings.
Color/Appearance: Cherry wood is a light pinkish-brown when freshly cut, darkening to a medium reddish-brown over time and with exposure to light. Its grain is usually straight and easy to work with. It has a fine, uniform texture with a moderate natural luster.

Workability: Cherry is known to be one of the best all-around woods for workability. It is stable, straight-grained, and machines well. The only difficulties typically arise when staining the wood, as it can sometimes yield blotchy results. It's recommended to use a sanding sealer before staining or to use a gel-based stain.
Responds well to steam bending.
