Description

Circa 1850 Furniture Remover – 3.78 L

Circa 1850 Furniture Rover eliminates old paint, varnish, shellac, lacquer, and urethane in multiple layers with just a brush stroke. Because it contains no water or harsh chemicals, it is safe for fine furniture. It will not damage the natural wood patina, nor harm glue joints or veneers. Circa 1850 Remover is non-flammable and virtually odorless. No stopping bath or neutralizer required.

Directions for Use

Contents may be under pressure. Place a cloth over the lid and open the container carefully. If the container is hot, allow it to cool before opening. Keep away from open flames. Do not work in direct sunlight or in windy conditions. Wear Circa 1850 remover gloves and safety goggles. Protect work areas during use with aluminum or polyethylene sheets.

Pour the remover into a metal or foil container. Using a brush, apply a generous coat of remover to a surface of 0.1–0.4 m² (1–4 ft²) and let sit for 5 minutes or until the paint blisters. Ensure the surface remains well saturated. If the remover dries, apply another coat to reactivate it. Remove the finish with a brush or scraper. On wood surfaces, use the Circa 1850 maple scraper to avoid damage. If the finish is very thick, repeat the process a second time.

Once the old finish is removed, complete the operation by rubbing with a Circa 1850 stripping pad or steel wool soaked in the remover. Allow the surface to dry. Lightly sand the wood before refinishing. For outdoor or vertical surfaces, use Circa 1850 Paint & Varnish Paste Remover.
