Give your scissors a spin on your Tormek with the SVX-150 Scissor Attachment. It works with most types of scissors and shears, from your household scissors to large hedge shears. You can even sharpen pinking shears that cut fabric in zigzags and some electronic hand plane blades.
Why the SVX-150 Scissor Jig?
Make your old, dull scissors sharper than when they were new. Really easy to use. Works with the Tormek T-4 and Tormek T-8, as well as older models. Works with most types of scissors and shears.
The scissors or shears are mounted in a holder that rests against the support. The sharpening angle can be adjusted to exactly replicate the existing sharpening angle. You grind the smallest amount of material possible every time, regardless of the angle of the scissors or shears.
Sharpening scissors and shears of various shapes
A scissor blade is most often slightly convex, and sometimes both are. Tormek's patented design allows you to follow the individual shape of each blade to ensure consistent sharpening along its entire length. The rotation of the grinding wheel presses the scissors against the rest, allowing you to concentrate on moving the scissors over the grinding wheel while maintaining full control. Please note that the SVX-150 Scissor Jig is not recommended for hairdressing knives due to their specific geometry.
