Red oak is a semi-hard wood of reddish brown with beautiful darker stripes.
Available thickness:
Red oak panel with birch core 3/4" x 4' x 8'
The panels in red oak with a core in Baltic birch are veneered on both sides and grade A/1. This results in a high-quality side and a very high-quality side. The type of veneer, sliced, gives a grain pattern called “crown” or “cathedral”. It is obtained by advancing a half of a log on a stationary knife and moving from bottom to top. The core of Baltic birch plywood, also called multiple plywood, has more sheets (or folds), which are also thinner, than traditional plywood. The plywood is made entirely of birch, a hard wood. These characteristics give it great rigidity and excellent stability. The veneer and the assembly of the panels are made in Quebec. The plywood made of Baltic birch comes from Eastern Europe or the Baltic countries.
Red oak panel rolled out with particle core 5/8" x 4' x 8'
The panels in red oak with particle core are veneered on both sides and grade B/2. You get a side of great quality and a side that may have some small defects. The unrolled veneer type is obtained when the ball turns on itself, allowing the knife to cut it by following more or less the annual growth rings of the tree. This circular movement gives the fibre a random structure for a more lively finish.
