Description

Tauari (Brazilian Oak) - Rough Cut Lumber

Scientific name: Couratari stellata

Tauari, also known as Brazilian oak, is similar in color to North American white and red oak, but 30% harder and more naturally stable. Its color ranges from cream to beige to medium brown and has a beautiful grain pattern. While offering the popular "wheat" color associated with domestic oak, Tauari is harder, more stable and very resistant to rot and decay. It takes stain colors beautifully and many consider Brazilian Tauari Oak to be a superior alternative to domestic oak at a very affordable price.

Density: Janka ladder: 1,750 lbf - In comparison: White pine 420 lbf - Cherry 1,260 lbf
