The TimberTech TOPLoc fastening system provides everything needed to securely install composite fascia boards and risers. Color-matched to TimberTech decking, these screws install easily and provide a clean, durable finish.
Installation & Fastening
- Pre-drilling is required using the TOPLoc Fascia & Riser Drill Bit (sold separately).
- 12 in. × 12 ft. fascia: A total of 15 screws is recommended per board. Install 2 screws at each fastening location, spaced vertically and positioned no more than 2 in. from the top and bottom edges. Then install 1 screw every 12 in., alternating between the top and bottom along the entire length of the fascia.
- 7-1/4 in. × 12 ft. riser: A total of 15 screws is recommended per board. Install 2 screws at each fastening location, spaced vertically and positioned no more than 2 in. from the top and bottom edges. Then install 1 screw every 12 in., alternating between the top and bottom along the entire length of the riser.
- Do not apply construction adhesive to the back of the board.
- To provide adequate support for the fascia, it is recommended to install a 2 × 12 wood rim board behind the fascia.
- For a lower deck perimeter, it is recommended to use a riser installed over a 2 × 8 wood rim board.
